“There are spaces that often get misused or under-utilized. When thinking about renovating a space to be given a purpose. It is important to identify the Why’s, How’s, and What’s- this project is not easy, but it will change lives.”
The Room of Refresh
-
The Room of Refresh is meant to assist survivors of domestic violence in their journey to recovery. This multi-age room will serve as a way for survivors to be able to reconnect with themselves and allow their children to learn and participate in their sensory-based healing journey.
For Moms: This room will allow mom to have space to practice self care and feel safe to decompress.
For Children: This room allows children to discover sensory-based relaxation and supports fidgeting and intentional movement that is safe for various ages.
For Everyone: This room allows for participants to explore self-care based on their individual sensory needs.

What is The Room of Refresh?
This room is an exploration of self-care and self-perseverance, the goal when a participant enters this room is to not only be able to take a deep breathe but to also realize that self-care is possible and needed for a healing mind. The room acts as a form of advocacy for the participant to acknowledge their on needs and be able to tailor their healing journey in a self-guided journey.
